End of Life Care
At the Prince George Hospice Palliative Care Society, we believe that everyone deserves the best quality of care until the end of life. We offer palliative care, where our goal is to ease pain and provide symptom management to ensure you are living as actively as you can with your life-limiting illness. Concurrently we provide Hospice care for those living with a fatal disease. Hospice care aims to ease the pain while preparing the family for the end of life. It is about getting the most out of the time you have left without the side effects of prolonged treatment. We pride ourselves on providing individualized, family-centred, compassionate care to all of those who pass through hospice.
We encourage you to come in for a tour of our Home, where we can introduce you to our care team, our guest rooms, and answer any questions you may have. Please do not hesitate to call us at 250-563-2551, or visit us at 3089 Clapperton St. Prince George, BC
Thank you so much for the kindness shown for my wonderful and loved husband for 63 years. You were very kind to him and we all appreciate it very much.
Symptom Management
When symptoms becomes severe, individuals may need diligent care from specially trained nurses. We offer short-term admissions to help alleviate symptoms and provide comfort so you may return home.
Respite Care
We understand that caring for someone with a life-limiting illness can be demanding, stressful, and exhausting. The Prince George Hospice Palliative Care Society offers respite care to relieve caregivers and allow them to maintain stability in their own lives. We are compassionate to the importance of caregivers taking time to care for themselves. We offer respite care in a couple of different ways. One is for your loved one to come to hospice and stay with us for a few weeks while we manage pain. Further, the caretaker’s role is to be present with their loved one while we take care of the rest. The other option is through our Community Match/Nav-CARE program. With this program the family is matched up with a trained volunteer; a scheduled time is chosen, and a volunteer will meet either with the patient to provide companionship and allow for the caregiver to get out of the house to run errands or to simply relax or will meet with the caregiver to provide peer support.

Bereavement Care
Experiencing the death of a loved one is one of the most challenging life experiences. We have trained grief support workers on site along with volunteers available for emotional support. Support includes non-judgemental listening, assistance in understanding the grief journey, and providing grief information and resources. We are here to listen to you.
