First of all, I would like to apologize for not sending out a post for a while. It has been an eventful summer here.

And once again the seasons change.

For some of us, summer is a time when we are more able to enjoy the days and put our grief aside for a while. I stress – for some of us. We are busy at the lake, camping, traveling, and having backyard BBQ’s with our families and friends. Yes, a lovely time of year.

As the summer comes to an end, it always feels like it’s time to take life seriously again. It’s like we have to get back into the swing of things. I want to let you all know that if you are starting to feel the pressure of life, and so starting to feel the pressure of grief, that we at Hospice will start to offer our Grief Support Groups. The first group to be offered will be Broken Circle.

We are happy to say, that for the first time we are offering two groups at two different times. One will run early evening, (as we have always done) and one will be held in the morning from 9:30 – 11:30 am. We have wanted to hold a morning group for a long time. It is wonderful that two of our long time volunteers have stepped up and offered to facilitate. We understand that for some people driving in the dark, and snowy road conditions are a barrier. We are so pleased to offer another option.

Broken Circle is a 10 week, closed, and structured group. The same people will be together for all of the sessions. It is an education-based group with peer support. Often people in the group say that the best thing about coming is that they are with a group of people who are experiencing the same things. They don’t have to pretend or explain anything. If you or someone you know is interested in Broken Circle, please call us at the Solace Center 250-563-2551 to register.

As the seasons change and summer comes to an end, your to do list might start to grow, remember to put self-care on that list.

Our Tea Time drop in is ongoing as well as our Zoom group drop in.

The Family groups will start in October as well as the Grief and Grub for Guys.

You can call to register for any of our groups at any time.
