The Prince George Hospice Palliative Care Society (PGHPCS) is calling upon the community to financially support its mission of providing compassionate care and support to individuals at the end of life, as well as their families. Under the theme “Live Until You Die,” this community appeal highlights the importance of embracing life fully, even in the face of death.
The concept of “Live Until You Die” is rooted in the belief that every individual deserves to live their life to the fullest, regardless of their prognosis. It recognizes the challenges and emotional struggles faced by individuals and their loved ones during this difficult journey and emphasizes the importance of receiving quality care and support during the end-of-life phase.
For over 35 years, the Prince George Hospice Palliative Care Society has been committed to providing holistic care to those in need. Through the home hospice program, launched in the spring of 2023, individuals in the final stages of life are given the option to receive compassionate care in the comfort of their own homes. This program, which allows individuals to choose the place of their final moments, has been made possible through the generous support and funding from the community.
By donating to the Prince George Hospice Palliative Care Society, community members can play a vital role in ensuring the continuation of essential services. Financial support from donors is crucial to sustain programs such as the home hospice program and other community initiatives for caregivers and families. Without their generosity, these non-funded programs would not be possible.
